Meet Alex Bernasconi, a superhero SDR at TripActions. We sat down with her to get her top tips on how to get more meetings booked with prospects.
We also learned that her superpower would be the ability to be a peacemaker by transporting herself anywhere in the world and using conversation to bridge the gap between different communities.
What’s the craftiest way you were able to get a meeting booked?
I was actually in Outreach, and I got a notification that someone had opened my email 11 times, and the number just kept going up. So I understood that they were sending it to each other in-house.
So I figured someone was going to go on our website. TripActions has a chat feature where we can see who’s on our site. Once someone from the prospect account visited our page, I was able to chat with them right then and there. They recognized my name from the emails I had sent, and I was able to get them to agree to a meeting.
It was something that was super fast, and I had to use three of our tools in order to secure the meeting. That was definitely the most fun and rewarding time I booked a meeting.
What’s the nicest response you’ve ever received from a prospect?
I sent an email that didn't include the prospect's name. Instead, the email said, hi, [prospect's first name]. He of course responded and said, that's the first time I've ever been called that, but sure I'll hop on a call with you. I ended up actually booking the meeting and he was super nice, and he had already heard of TripActions. So it was a nice mistake.
What’s your most successful subject line?
My most successful subject line is just, “[Prospect's first name], meeting tomorrow.” It's simple, it's short, and they always click on it.
I don't do a question mark because I think it drives them to think that they're actually having a meeting tomorrow. So it gets them at least to start reading the email.
What’s the best piece of sales advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of sales advice was from my little brother. He said it doesn't matter what I am selling; I should be able to hold a conversation with a prospect for 30 minutes just by asking them questions and getting to know them. It doesn't matter what you're selling or what your product is.
What are your favorite tools in your tech stack?
Of course, Chili Piper. It's great because I don't have to worry about adding an agenda or our Zoom link or anything like that. So it's really seamless. It's probably one of my favorite tools that we use.
I'm also originally from Seattle, so I have to give a shout-out to Outreach. They make my day a lot easier. And then finally, I would say ZoomInfo to get the most up-to-date contact information about my prospects. The cell phone numbers that they give me are complete gold.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
It would probably be the ability to transport myself and be able to be in front of people and talk to them.
It sounds so simple, but with the world growing and globalization and everyone kind of working together now, I want to help our communities grow together and really show how we should all be working together as the world continues to grow, instead of continuing to point out our differences. I would be able to be a kind of peacemaker.
